Norse Viking Black Death Shield

The spear, axe and shield were the most basic arms of the Viking warrior.  Our Norse Viking Black Death Shield features a wooden construct with steel rim, boss and handle as well as a genuine leather arm strap.  The shield was the most common means of defense and finds from graves show timbers, such as fir, alder and poplar were used as they were dense and light and not inclined to split, unlike oak.
